Multi-Skilling

We are all very aware of the skills shortage within our industry and we have tried to help our business overcome this by offering additional Multi-Skills training, in addition to our operatives’ core trade.

We are committed to Multi-skilling and believe there are many benefits to offering this additional training. In turn, the achievements we have seen so far have been: a highly motivated workforce; improvement in service delivery; increased customer satisfaction; reduction in travelling time; and increased first time fixes. This initiative has had a great impact on the recruitment, retention and motivation of our own employees.

Supply Chain
Our supply chain embodies everything and everyone up to and including the operative replacing the tap washer at a resident’s home.

The attitude, motivation and capability of all staff and operatives are as much a part of the supply chain as the process of getting them to their job with the materials permits and tools needed.

Only by dealing with all aspects of the supply chain, collectively with our customer, will we achieve optimum performance. The specific value that can be derived from improved relationships throughout the supply chain cannot be underestimated and will always be at the forefront of our minds.

We will operate a supply chain management policy, which will encourage specialist sub-contractors, suppliers and consultants to continually provide good service, build on successes and learn from experiences.

Risk Management
A Risk Management plan is essential for every project. We recommend an Initial Risk Study be completed, combined with a concept stage Value Management study to enable us to quantify accurately the risks and the potential for time and cost over runs.

We undertake reviews at regular intervals to ensure that mitigation actions are effective. All reviews will actively seek to identify and assess new risks, reassess existing risks and review the effectiveness of the management actions.

Environmental
Spring Grove is committed to protecting the environment in which we live. We develop sustainable construction as a proper balance between social, economic and environmental factors achieved through co-ordinated strategic planning.

Prime environmental indicators, which are designed to start the measuring process include:

Operational carbon dioxide emission
Embodied carbon dioxide

Water used in the operation

Waste used in the construction process

Biodiversity – a measure of actions taken to maintain protect and improve the flora and fauna on
.. site.
Transport – measure impact of the transport used to deliver staff and materials to site
